Welcome to the thankQ Intranet support website !

The thankQ Intranet is a web application that provides University-wide access to the Development and Alumni database, thankQ. ThankQ Intranet provides Schools, Colleges and Support Groups direct access to alumni information in order to assist with relations programmes and provision of benefits to alumni.

ThankQ is the University's golden copy of alumni records and contains more than 210,000 records of former students, from as far back as the 1920s, as well as all donors to the University and other University contacts.  It also serves as the General Council register of graduates.  The launch of the thankQ Intranet marks the first time that alumni and fund-raising data has been made available to colleges, schools and support units across the University on a self-service basis.

As the golden copy of alumni records, thankQ underpins the work of the Development and Alumni department (D&A), specifically by providing systems for the University's alumni engagement programme, fundraising for the Edinburgh Campaign and processing all income to the University of Edinburgh Development Trust.  thankQ is a:

• record of all alumni and graduates of the University
• record of all communication between D&A and alumni
• system for fundraising for University priorities and the Edinburgh Campaign
• system for recording income, processing Gift Aid and generating statistical and management reports

This website is aimed to provide support to users of the thankQ intranet as well as information for members of staff across the University who are interested in using thankQ.

Information about D&A

D&A has a departmental intranet containing information about all aspects of our work and team. Some intranet pages and our pages on the main University website will provide useful context for thankQ intranet users and so are linked in the menu below.

Once you have been set-up with a thankQ intranet account, you will be able to access the sections linked below, but all other sections in the left-hand menu in the D&A intranet will remain private.
